System overview

A coordinated pathway from vessel access to thrombus aspiration

The platform brings together catheter access, negative-pressure aspiration, and lumen-patency support for peripheral vascular thrombus aspiration. The catheter reaches the target vessel segment, an external vacuum source supplies suction, and the separator can reciprocate through the distal lumen to help clear obstructive thrombus and maintain the aspiration pathway.

Key information on this page

  • Catheter and separator coordination
  • External vacuum support
  • 8F, 10F, and 12F platforms
  • Multiple distal tip configurations

System composition

Four elements form one aspiration pathway

Each section is published as native webpage text so it remains readable, accessible, and indexable.

01

Aspiration catheter

Reaches the target peripheral vessel segment and provides the working lumen for negative-pressure aspiration.

02

Aspiration separator

Reciprocates through the distal catheter lumen to help clear thrombus that may obstruct the tip or lumen and support catheter patency.

03

Extension tubing

Connects the aspiration catheter to the external vacuum source and completes the negative-pressure pathway.

04

External vacuum pump

Provides continuous negative pressure; connection, settings, and operation must follow the product instructions for use.

Separator-assisted patency

Helps clear obstruction and maintain the aspiration pathway

The separator advances and reciprocates through the distal catheter lumen to help loosen or clear thrombus that may obstruct the catheter tip. This supports lumen patency and sustained aspiration flow. Suction is supplied by the external vacuum source; the separator itself is not a source of negative pressure.

Scope of function: the separator supports patency and procedural continuity. It does not guarantee that blockage will not occur or that thrombus will be completely removed.

Working sequence

Understand the coordinated workflow in four steps

  1. 01

    Access

Advance the aspiration catheter to the target vessel segment.

  2. 02

    Connect

Connect the catheter to the external vacuum source through the extension tubing.

  3. 03

    Aspirate

Establish negative pressure and perform thrombus aspiration according to the instructions for use.

  4. 04

    Maintain

When needed, use the separator to help clear obstruction and maintain the aspiration pathway.

Separator options

ACS series pairing options

Three separator sizes are available for pairing with the corresponding catheter platforms.

Catheter specifications

8F, 10F, and 12F catheter platforms

Inner diameter, outer diameter, and available working lengths are summarized below.

Distal tip configurations

Angled-tip values describe the diameter of a full rotational sweep

For angled tips, the stated value is the diameter of the circle traced by the catheter opening during one complete 360° rotation; it is not the bend length. For the straight S tip, the value is the opening diameter.

SStraight
Tip opening Ø 2.24 mm
A9A9 angle
360° sweep Ø 15.3 mm
A14A14 angle

Three-step A14 curved-tip release sequence from straight in sheath to recovered tip shape
The tip remains relatively straight within the sheath and recovers its pre-shaped curve after release. Listed values describe the diameter of the circle traced by one full 360° rotation of the catheter opening.
